I have always loved to draw and paint; and (some time last century) I received my B.F.A. in Graphic Design at the University of Washington, hoping to have a creative yet structured career. After working at Seattle design firms and completing a “five year tour” as Sr. User Interface Designer and then Art Director at Microsoft, this Seattleite headed off to Los Angeles to pursue art, design, yoga, and sunshine. There I met a talented and energetic architect named Jonathan Davis. A year later we married and combined our design abilities to start Davis Studio Architecture + Design. While working as a designer full time, I also honed my drawing and painting skills with classes at Otis College of Art & Design and at Martin Lubner Studio. Additionally, I began studying yoga with a Sikh yoga master. I even started, but didn’t quite complete, Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training.

Then in 2011, missing the soft grey rain and cushion of moss beneath my feet, I packed up my husband and two small children to start a new chapter of life on Bainbridge Island. And as fate would have it, I finally finished my Teacher Training up here in Seattle in 2020 with my original teacher.

Much of my current artwork focuses on filling my sketchbook with all the amazing things we see - from orcas to octopus - when out on our sailboat exploring the beautiful waters and islands of the Salish Sea.
